About Eight & Bob

Eight & Bob is a fragrance brand with a history that reads like a novel, intertwined with the glamour of early 20th-century aristocracy and a touch of serendipity. The story begins with French aristocrat Albert Fouquet, who had a passion for scents and created his own fragrances with the help of his butler, Philippe. The turning point came one summer night on the French Riviera in 1937, when Fouquet met a young John F. Kennedy, who was captivated by Fouquet's scent. Kennedy's enthusiasm led Fouquet to send him a bottle of the fragrance to the US, marked with the note: "In this bottle, you will find the dash of French glamour that your American personality lacks."

The name "Eight & Bob" is derived from the way Fouquet would carefully ship the fragrance in books to avoid the grasp of Nazis during World War II, cutting out eight samples from the pages and sending them along with a ninth sample labeled "And Bob." After Fouquet's tragic death, the formula was nearly lost, but thanks to detailed preservation by the family, Eight & Bob was reintroduced to the world. The brand is celebrated for its sophisticated scents that carry the legacy of its founder's charisma, elegance, and his remarkable ability to capture the essence of his time.
